Double Page Spread General Research

Double Page Spread One.
The Layout of the magazine is very common in the position of the picture. After looking at double page spreads I can conclude that  a lot of magazines have the picture making up the majority of one of the pages and the bulk of the text on the other page.
Furthermore in this double page spread the title takes up about half of the right hand page, I like this idea and will try to use this technique while making my magazine double page spread.
In the title the colours used are black and grey. Both these colours can be found in the image on the left page.

Double Page Spread Two.
The layout of this magazine is again based around the idea of the picture taking up one of the pages and the text taking up the other.
The red colour from the chair is used as highlighter.
The text is divided into 4 long columns.
There is a drop cap ‘J’ used at the start of the text.
The text is made up of questions and the questions are written in bold to make them stand out against the answers.

Double Page Spread Three.

All the photos in the double page spread have been made black and white.
Again the picture takes up the whole of the left page.
Red is again used to highlight through out the double page.
Another drop cap is used for the letter ‘M’.
Other pictures are used on the bottom of the right hand page. Furthermore these pictures are also edited in the same way as the main picture.

Double Page Spread Four.

The picture is again on the left hand page however in this example it stretches across to the right page as well.
There is a read boarder.
The colour scheme is again red black and white. In the picture Jay-Z is wearing a black and white suit to match the black writing on a white back ground.
The text is split into two wide columns with one box in the middle to break it up.

  1. This is a good start but the work is very general. How will you narrow down your attention to detail?
