Front Cover Research

The colour scheme on this magazine has been thought about a lot.

They have used the orange that can be seen in her dress for the writing and similarly they use white colour text and there is also white  in her dress.

I also think its relevant to notice that she is a very pale subject and her arm also looks almost white-ish from the light reflecting off it.

They have used blue to highlight certain areas of the magazine. But the blue is very balanced out across the page. This is a technique I will have to think about carefully when making my magazine
They have made the subject sit at a very odd angle. I believe they have done this so that while her face and upper body remain open and inviting, the from her hip downwards she is twisted and looks disjointed and uninviting.
She has thick eyeliner, heavy make-up and is displaying and a facial expression of being angered while still remaining attractive.
The text on the front cover is shaped around her body.
A circle is used to attract your attention to the right middle side.
The amount of text makes it look very busy.

There is 3 different fonts used not including the title.
There are only 2 colours used for the font. Orange and white

There does not appear to be any specific colour scheme. But with a black back ground they seem to have used florescent colours with white.
They have taken a red colour from one of the subjects hats and used it for the title. But it is not the exact same colour, it has been brightened and make much more florescent so that it stands out against the picture and the background.
This picture has 4 subjects in it but one is considerably further forward and not facing the camera hiding his face.

his makes it seem almost mysterious and eerie and when combined with the black background and the expressions on the face of the 3 subjects that are in the background we get a very creepy atmosphere with this magazine.

There is very minimal writing on the page but where there is writing it is white to contrast from the black background.

the layout has been balanced by putting something in each corner. For example in the bottom left corner there is a barcode but in the top right corner there is a section of writing which is the similar size to the barcode.

The writing that is telling you who the 4 subjects are is in the middle of the page. It is in front of the image which makes you believe it is important. Or it could even be done like this to show that it is telling you who the subjects are, just as a label on top there clothes would.

The colour scheme of this magazine is black and a tanned yellow colour.

The colour scheme involves the actual picture as well as the writing around it.

The picture has 3 women in it which appear in the form of a girl band.

You can tell straight away that they are involved in music as the women in the middle is holding a boom box.

The picture of the 3 girls takes up 2 thirds of the page on the right side.
The title is positioned behind the picture which shows the women to be strong. Which fits in with their faces

The text follows the colour scheme.

The text is shaped around the picture.

There is 2 fonts, one that is bigger and bulkier used to highlight while the other is thinner and more eligant used for everything else.
